Easy ways to get a website for your church.
Quick and pretty easy....
Get a domain name if you don't have one. www.nameofyourchurch.org
Inexpensive and it never goes down:
www.godaddy.com $6.99 annually for the domain name
Godaddy has a feature called "Website Tonight" where you can create your site right then. There are different packages with nominal costs, depending on how many webpages you want.
________
My newest discovery.....
Go to www.google.com
Sign up for an account. (It's free.)
Suggestion for account name: adventlillian@gmail.com, for ex.
Password: Whatever you choose. Suggestion: church address. EX: 201nbaylen
Sign in.
Click MORE across the top.
Click LABS
Click GOOGLE PAGE CREATOR.... and follow the instructions.
Downside of using this service: the website address will have "googlepages" in it.
However, I noticed recently they are offering a "webkit" for $99 which will resolve this and your domain name will appear . www.adventlillian.org rather than the googlepages.adventlillian.com
Or, you can simply have your current homepage "redirected" to the google page.
Okay...
Other ways to get a website...
Many templates across the internet can be downloaded.
Search for "free templates" and visit the websites.
Some offer completely free templates for your use, and cost anywhere from $60 to several hundred depending on the comlexity of the "webkit" or how much the author wants to make on it. There is no need to pay a lot of money for your church website!
This one looks promising:
http://www.faithstreamhost.net/
It costs a little more but compared to what you could be paying, it is very very affordable.
I will add to this as I find more free or inexpensive resources.....
Email me with what you find and I'll share it here.
