COASTLINE SUBMISSION GUIDELINES
Deadline: 20th of each month for following month's issue (unless specified otherwise)
Ideally, articles and digital photos should be emailed to coastline@diocgc.org. Many submissions, however, are mailed via the post office and with a scanner and computer, the photos usually have fair to good quality and can be used in the paper. "Call ins" for announcements, are accepted. (All contact info is below).
Announcements/Events: Include DATE of the event, EVENT NAME, TIME, and several sentences about your event. If it is a fundraiser, please mention where the proceeds will go. Be sure to include a phone number and/or an email address "for more information."
Articles: Just write everything you wish to say in your article. If it needs editing for space reasons, the main ideas will be published. However, the entire article will be published online. If a good photo accompanies the article, the greater possibility of the article being published. (Although I understand that not all articles need a photo - reports, for example. ) If you have several photos accompanying the story, pick the best ones that tell the story and I'll put a slideshow online along with the story.
Photos: If you are using a digital camera, please shoot them in the "raw." Its okay if you don't, but it gives me a lot more to work with in case it is too dark or too light. And I do prefer digital photos to be emailed to me.
If you have an online album email the link to me. However, I may need the original if I can't enlarge a photo enough to look good.
If you have regular prints, that's fine. Just mail them to me. On the back of the photo, tell me what the photo is about (event, etc.) and if people are in it, please write their names L - R. If you want the photos back, write a little note to me and I'll mail them back. ; )
Your newsletter: Please put me on your church mailing list for your newsletter. If you have an email list also, please add my email address: coastline@diocgc.org
